Nathan’s on the corner of Surf and Stillwell

    July 4th, 2007

Joey Chestnut, an American, has finally beaten the Japanese guy with a really long name that I can neither type nor pronounce (Takeru “Tsunami” Kobayashi) to become the winner of The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. He also broke the record by eating 66 hotdogs in 12 minutes. Sniff, sniff, I am so filled with patriotic pride. I feel like it’s the Americas Cup. We have finally brought the title back home.
By the way, Nathan’s are the second best hot dogs ever made. They are second only to Hebrew National hotdogs.
    Happy Fourth of July!

    Happy 4th of July!

    Welcome

    July 3rd, 2007

Welcome to my new site. I am still dusting and arrangeing the furniture so pull up a pillow and have a seat on the floor. I need to thank my pal Ron in Ireland for all his hard work in getting this site up and running. I owe him a big one. Now I am still opening boxes and settling in so please expect a few bumps down the road. I hope you like the new diggs. It sure is a lot easier to type.

    Aural Ammunition

    July 1st, 2007

    Interrupting all programs.
We are broadcasting from a pirate satellite.
We beam our signal to Belfast, Beirut, Miami and Cali
We come in underneath the mushroom cloud.
This is not Free Europe nor an armed force network
Can we get the world to listen?
    Aural ammunition
    Everyone hold on tight!

Hast du etwas Zeit für mich
Dann singe ich ein Lied für dich
    Von 99 Luftballons
    Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Denkst du vielleicht g’rad an mich
Singe ich ein Lied für dich
    Von 99 Luftballons
Und das sowas von sowas kommt

You really don’t know how cutting edge Blondie was.
I use to have a pin / badge that I use to wear that stated, “Blondie is a GROUP!”
Ya’ know The Ramones were way ahead of their time.
Yea, I know you are saying…WTF is he talking about.  I’m talking about perspective.
In 1980 I was 22 years old and Raygun was the president.  The Sex Pistols were old news.  By ’80 we where convinced that the world as we knew it was going to blow up.  There really was no future for us.  We knew this!  We also knew the Sex Pistols were put together by the corporate guys.  Bananarama was too too cool for the simple fact they blew off the EMI assholes.  They didn’t last too long.  The Human League…..HOLY SHIT!!!!!   They were just that!  Phil Oakey and Joanna what’s-her-name still are some of the best.  That whole two-tone thing happened and I fell for it, hard!  Madness, Bad Manners, Rude Boys, Body Snatcher, The Specials, Fun Boy Three, The Beat,…. I could go on for an hour….you get the idea.
I met Joan Jett in Cleveland in 1983.  I went to the after gig party at the hotel.
She is one of the nicest peoples I have ever met!!  And to answer your question, YES, I got a woody as soon as she walked into the room and it got harder as I met and talked to her.  She is one of the coolest, chillin’ peoples I’ve ever met!
And NO to your next question!  I’ll never tell!  We hung out until the early morn.  I will say that she and I watched the sun rise while looking over Lake Erie.
    ‘nuf said!
The Art of Noise was an ensemble that never thought they would play live but got thrown into the spotlight.  Talk about foreword thinking!!!
Yea, so I was kid in the 60’s.  I remember the Presidents funeral and, “Good Night Chet, Good Night Dave”.
I was a young adult in the 70’s.  I railed against Disco and proudly played Zappa tunes, really loud (I have seen Frank in concert over 40 times)
    Frank Zappa RIP!!!
I saw Monty Python LIVE in concert!!  Before they started dying off.
    Concerts I have attended;
    Black Sabbath  3 times
    Black Oak Arkansas
    Beach Boys
Emerson, Lake and Palmer  7 times
    The Band
    Three Dog Night
    REM
    X
    Black Flag  5 times
    Dead Kennedys 7 times
The Greatful Dead   more than 30 times!  Sorry I lost count
    The Ramones
    The Eagles 4 times
    George Thorogood  4 times
    David Bowie twice
    Blondie three times
    Argent
    The Stray Cats
    The Fooles
    U2
    Van Halen with Sammy Hagar
    The Pogues  6 times
    Need I go on?
    Really?
I have no doubt that this is a seriously  truncated list but it’s the best I could come up with so if you remember me at a specific concert please remind me so I can add it to the list.
